Thursday Lunchtime Concerts – Summer Season

The Thursday lunchtime concerts are back with a packed programme of really exciting recitals. Here is the full programme:
7th May
Will Fergusson, Piano and Voice
‘Before and After Summer’, a recital celebrating anniversaries, including music by Brahms
14th May
Louisa Duggan (harp) and Lestyn Edwards (voice)
Harp solo pieces by Hasselmans, Savourna Stevenson and Tournier; songs by Brahms, and Britten folk arrangements
21st May
Powerbox – five-piece Mettingham-based rock/pop band
Tunes from the 1950s to 1990s; they have performed together in various configurations in Norfolk and Botswana and Borneo
28th May
Aurora Consort – A Cappella Singing
An exploration of unaccompanied singing through the ages, from early Medieval melismata to living and recent composers
4th June
Fine City Seven – Norwich-based male voice choir
Unaccompanied arrangements of songs made famous, including artists such as The Beach Boys, Queen and Billy Joel
11th June
Louis de Bernières – songs and poetry
Presented by one of Norfolk’s most celebrated writers
18th June
Tumbrel – Folk Duo (Pete and Vicky), with special guest Nathan Thomas
European folk tunes on flute, recorder, whistle, fiddle and guitar
25th June
Katalin Prentice – opera singing, accompanied by Tim Patient
A musical journey of beautiful and beloved arias
2nd July
Evan Ruth, accompanied by Jonathan Rutherford
A recital by this tenor of A.E. Housman song settings – 20th and 21st century composers
9th July
Young Persons Recital
Emily Oldman (18), Ranulph Bacon (16), and Saffron Vine (17) – solos from classical to musical theatre
16th July
Special Recital for the Black Shuck Festival
Featuring Caroline Speca (violin) and Will Fergusson (piano), with art by James Mayhew inspired by Saint-Saëns, Massenet, Stravinsky and others
