Mary Walker Foundation Needlework Weekend @ The Fisher Theatre

March 8 @ 7:30 pm - March 9 @ 9:00 pm

Bungay has a long history in the production of decorative textiles with Mary Walker a leading light in more recent times. The large embroidery celebrating Bungay life is a fixture in the library and the embroideries in St. Mary’s church, depicting life in Bungay through the ages, all made by the sewing group Mary led, are a must-see when visiting the church.

Mary Walker sadly died in 2022 at age 88, and a new foundation has been set up in her memory to continue celebrating needlework in Bungay with a fundraising weekend planned for the 8th and 9th March at the Fisher Theatre.
