Car Parking

Car parking is at Chaucer Street, Priory Lane and Wharton Street: the first half hour is free. Parking around the town is limited to short stop parking in St. Mary’s Street and in Trinity Street. There is on-street parking further out but we do ask for everyone to park responsibly.

Outney Common has a public car park next to that of the Golf Club. This is free but is very potholed!

There are public conveniences at Cross Street and in the car park at Priory Lane. They are not the most salubrious! Of course all of our pubs and restaurants have conveniences – so that will be a good excuse to stop for a bite to eat and a pint or cup of coffee.

Visitor Information Points

There are three Visitor Information Points in town – at the Community Library in Wharton Street, at The Art Trading Company at the top of Earsham Street and there is also information and help from the Town Council offices at 1a, Broad Street, Bungay NR35 1EE. More visitor information is in St. Mary’s Church (open 10am – 4pm every day). Many of the shops, cafes and accommodation providers also supply information to visitors and most will be able to answer any questions you have.
