Visitor Information Points

There are three Visitor Information Points in town – at the Community Library in Wharton Street, at The Art Trading Company at the top of Earsham Street and there is also information and help from the Town Council offices at The Town Hall, 1a, Broad Street, Bungay NR35 1EE.

Car Parking

Priory Lane and Wharton Street both have half an hour’s free parking.

Apart from that the fees for both these car parks and for Nethergate Street and Scales Street are:

Up to 2 hours – £1.00

Up to 4 hours – £2

Daily – £4

Monthly – £65

Boyscott Lane is free – but is for cars and motorcycles only

An Annual Ticket option is available for all parking places with a Monthly Ticket option. The annual
fee of £650 provides improved value i.e. twelve months for the price of ten.

For information on all car parking charges across the region, you download the full document here:

These car parks also use the Ringo App.

The most convenient ways to find parking places in East Suffolk are either via Find my nearest, and where parking fees apply the council’s RingGo parking service. The RingGo App allows drivers to locate a parking place before starting their journey, receive navigation to it, pay for their parking session and even extend it should they need to. Signing up to RingGo is as easy as entering your car’s registration and your payment details.  Find out more about registering and using the service on the RingGo how it works page.

If you do not wish to receive notifications from the App (which cost an additional 20p per session) confirming your parking session or giving you a reminder when you are nearing the end of your session, then remember to turn off notifications within the settings of the App.

To avoid getting a ticket and a parking fine – find out more about how these are imposed here.

There is a further car park next to the Golf Club’s car park at Bungay Common and that is free.

Toilets

There are public conveniences at Cross Street and in the car park at Priory Lane.
