Thursday Lunchtime Concerts – Autumn 2024 Season

William and Victoria have done it again and put together a programme of wonderful lunchtime concerts – with something for everyone – for the autumn season as St. Mary’s Church.
This is the full programme:
31st October- William’s Magic Orchestra
This will be a brand new piece of music created on the day by musicians coming together earlier in the day.
7th November – Robert Cator, the Accordion Man
Robert Cator specialises in singalongs and Irish and Scottish classics. Robert has been playing for over 20 years and brings the feelgood factor to his shows.
14th November – Christopher Reeve and Jason Wick
Chris Reeves response to the Black Dog of Bungay story is a specially written poem about a black CAT read to a musical accompaniment from The Feathered Thorns’ (who perform during the Black Shuck Festival) guitarist extraordinaire, Jason Wick.
21st November – Dide Simeond
Dide also performed in the Black Shuck Festival as a soloist in William Drew-Batty’s The Journey. Here she reads from her poetry collection ‘Making Sense’, accompanied by William.
28th November – Lynne Nesbitt
A wintery recital reading from her own poetry collection as well as singing from Henry Purcell’s music. Lynne will be accompanied by Christine Smith and Claire Duncon (on flute).
5th December – The Rococos
French baroque music performed by a quartet comprising Rosy Payne on violin, Patrick Crooke on violincello, Jack Cunningham on harpsichord and Alistair Cunningham on flute. Music is by Marin Marals, Jacques-Martin Hottetarre and Marc-Antoine Charpentier.
12th December- Tanya Kirk and Evan Ruth
With piano and singing from Tanya and professional tenor Evan, this is a concert of works by Debussy, Faure, Puccini, Respighi and Vaughan Williams that traces life’s milestones.
19th December – Bungay Belles: Carols and other Festive songs
Singers from across the community join William Drew-Batty (on piano) and cellist Natasha Holmes to get us all in the Christmas spirit.
