Suffolk County Council

Suffolk is represented by 75 county councillors, elected every four years, serving 63 electoral divisions. Each councillor has a locality budget that enables local organisations to apply for funding for local projects. Bungay regularly receives contributions towards projects that are important to the town including to the annual floral and Christmas lights displays, upgrades to public amenities such as play areas and for things such as defibrillators and devices to help reduce speeding in town.

East Suffolk District Council

Suffolk Coastal and Waveney district councils merged in April 2019 to become the country’s largest ‘super district’ council, sharing many services and with offices in Lowestoft and Melton, Nr. Woodbridge.
