Waymarked Regional Cycle Route 30, Heart of Suffolk Cycle Route ‘Streets & Lanes’.

Fancy biking off for brunch and a St Peter’s Brewery tour? Spinning out for a spot of wine-tasting at Flint Vineyard? Or maybe just a pit-stop-perfect town-and-country cycle tour, set to get those panniers bulging with Bungay good things? The quiet lanes of the gentle Waveney Valley and its Suffolk hinterland, The Saints, make superb cycling country for lycra-clad and leisure cyclists alike, with refuelling stations aplenty from producers or farm shops to honesty-box-based produce stalls and cafés. No need to race – there are terrifically tasty prizes to be discovered by all, every stage of the way!

Kick start your ride with a downhill detour west to Etude Roastery’s riverside Silo Coffee House at Wainford Bridge.

Spin back towards town following brown cycling signs first to St Peter’s Brewery, then via St Margarets/St Cross South Elmham villages to detour north after 3 miles and join Regional Cycle Route 30 (east) at Homersfield.

After 2.7 miles, detour north to Flint Vineyard.

Rejoin the cycle route, continuing to Bungay via The Green Dragon Brewery & Free House on Broad Street.
