UPDATE ON THE BUNGAY STREET MARKETS
Sadly the Garden Market for this year has been cancelled. However, it is hoped that we can run a Homes & Gardens Market (with food!) in late September or early October.
Bungay hosts three street markets each year:
- The Garden Market – usually the 2nd Sunday in May
- The Antiques Fair – usually the 3rd Sunday in July
- The Christmas Market – 1st Sunday in December
BEBA runs the Garden Market and the Christmas Market; The Antiques Market is now run by Black Dog Events with a donation made to BEBA for charitable donations.
The Street Markets are an important part of the Bungay calendar, bringing thousands of visitors to the town. Earsham Street is closed to traffic for the day and stalls line either side of the street with stallholders from all around the local area selling their wares. All of Bungay’s shops, cafés, restaurants and pubs are open and we always have good weather!
People flock from miles around to enjoy the atmosphere, with local musicians often providing entertainment. You might even see some Morris dancing from the Rumburgh Morris and, for the Christmas Market the Old Glory Molly Men.
