Anyone living near the North Sea will be aware of Doggerland, the land mass that connected us to Belgium, Southern Scandinavia and the Netherlands 8,000 years ago, until it was submerged by a giant tsunami.

A new exhibition: Doggerland: Lost World in the North Sea, at the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden (National Museum of Antiquities) in Leiden, southern Holland, includes more than 200 objects found by archaeologists from tools to human and animal bones – including hyenas.

We do not have to travel to Holland to see the exhibition – you can enjoy a virtual tour via YouTube here.
